Lightweight Terms
Last updated: June 22nd, 2024.
Most of the rules we set up in our Terms and Conditions are common good sense, but it’s legally necessary to regulate the use of the website we provide you, good people, with. Therefore, here they are. They’re the only contractual document you should take into account regarding the use of The Toy Library Platform.
When we created The Toy Library we wanted a website easy to navigate, and easy to understand. We thought you’d have appreciated an easy to read version of our T&C too.
General
- The Toy Library is a Carrigaline-based (Co. Cork, Ireland) CLG company allowing users to offer toys on the platform for free. No selling, just giving. The Toy Library also offers users to search for toys to request. No shipping, just collecting.
- In order to use the services we provide, you should create an account, make sure to securely store your login credentials, accept our T&C, and be aware they may vary without us telling you (but we will, if the change is something more than a typo).
- The only third-party services we use so far are:
- Mapbox, to offer you a lightweight location-based service
- Plausible, to analyze the way people use our service. We use a generic « people » cause we don’t track your personal data. Cookies? No thanks. We prefer chips.
- Brevo, our email client provider. This concerns you only if you subscribed to our FunLetter (by the way, if you haven't yet, you can do so here).
- Zapier, to automatically add you to our mailing list if you chose to, and to remind you to close a listing in case your toy got adopted (and you forgot).
- Beside using our services, you can further support The Toy Library by donating to the cause « Sharing toys. Caring for the environment » on our GoFundMe fundraising page. Of course, if you do so (thank you!) you agree to GoFundMe T&C: they are the ones who handle payments.
- If you have any Platform-related question, issue, problem, or doubt, please reach out: info@thetoylibrary.ie.
Using the Platform (as Giver or as Requester)
- Please don’t use photos you should not use (yes, including screenshots or images downloaded from the Internet). Giver is responsible for what she publishes.
- We strongly and often encourage a kind and respectful behaviour in and outside our website. However, The Toy Library is not responsible for the communication and/or meetings happening between Giver and Requester. Whether you’re the one or the other, please exchange as if on the other side there was someone you care about (cause you do actually, it’s your neighbour!).
- Don’t be mad at us if the toy you wanted to give away don’t get adopted, or if the one you collected is not in the conditions you expected. Think of the immensely good impact you’re already having on the World and on your children’s future. Everything else is going to be ok.
